OpenAI is rolling GPT-6 into ChatGPT for everyone: paid tiers get GPT-6 Sol from October 7; Free and Go get GPT-6 Luna from October 8. Intelligent UI lets responses include interactive charts, buttons, forms, diagrams, and on-the-spot tools instead of plain text only — reaching 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users.
Why it matters
This is the mass-market productization of GPT-6. Chat moves from text-first to interface-first for a billion-plus weekly users, while the same week Anthropic undercuts the small-model tier with Haiku 5.5 at matching Luna prices.
OpenAI announced on October 7 that GPT-6 and Intelligent UI are rolling out to ChatGPT for more than 1.2 billion weekly users.
Paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise) receive GPT-6 Sol starting October 7 in the Chat tab. Free and Go tiers receive GPT-6 Luna starting October 8. Enterprise availability depends on admin settings. Models powering ChatGPT Work and Codex are unchanged in this release.
Intelligent UI lets ChatGPT compose answers from text, visuals, and interactive elements — graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, diagrams, and small tools (calculators, bill splitters, maps) generated in-line for the task. Users can dial visuals down; plain text remains an option when it fits better. OpenAI also reports GPT-6 Instant starts web-search answers about 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant, with progressive partial answers while the model continues thinking.
