xAIGrokAWSModelsGrok 4.6 Lands on AWS Bedrock with 500K Context Window
August 19, 20262 min read
AWS has added xAI’s Grok 4.6 to Amazon Bedrock, offering a 500,000-token context window, configurable reasoning effort levels, and both US and global inference profiles.
Why it matters
The availability of Grok on Bedrock expands enterprise access to another frontier model family and intensifies competition among long-context offerings on major cloud platforms.
Amazon Web Services has made xAI’s Grok 4.6 available on Amazon Bedrock. The model offers a 500,000-token context window and supports configurable reasoning effort settings (low, medium, high, and xhigh). Customers can choose between a US geo profile for data residency and a global profile for broader availability.
The addition gives enterprises another high-capability long-context option alongside existing Bedrock models. It also continues the trend of frontier labs distributing their models through major cloud marketplaces rather than only through their own APIs.
For AWS customers, Grok 4.6 expands the set of advanced reasoning and long-context tools that can be integrated into existing Bedrock-based applications.
